What all the "Kool Kids" are Doing

So I attended a meeting today. Blah blah blah. I was jolted out of my dreamy, trance-like state when I heard a much-admired savvy co-worker state during a discussion of communication and marketing trends that myspace is on the way out. Out!?

Holy Schmack! I'd just gotten used to being "in."

Apparently, the kool kids are doing "social bookmarking" on del.icio.us.com and going on photo scavenger hunts on flickr and following and being followed on twitter...

Of course, I don't want to be an outsider or behind in the times, so I spent the better part of this evening checking out all of these sites.

And I've gotta say it: I still like myspace the best, followed closely by dlisted, blogger, and my plain old antiquated yahoo email.

But, I'm gonna give twitter a try....

And if I get no followers, I'll be really sad and bitter, ha ha.

Hey, I just found your blog! Since I'm a bit mobile and will be away from good friends of mine from MD, I am exploring all kinds of internet options for staying in touch with them, and I found your blog through - guess what? - your MY SPACE page!!! Not so uncool now, is it?!?!?

Yeah, so I'm not a kool kid either - I only recently started paying attention to my space anyway!! How old and out of touch am I?!

Happy/Sad to hear about you going back to finish your degree - since I'll just be getting there when you leave, it is stinky for me, but good for you!!! Sounds like you and Matt are plenty prepped and ready to deal with the distance thing - excellent.

Hope you are doing well, and I hope we get a chance to spend a little time getting to know each other better once I get to FL July 19th.

Take care!!!
